Plan provides an income for employees when a covered accident or illness keeps them away from work (whether they're at home or in the hospital) for an extended time. Up to 60 percent of their monthly income is replaced. Elimination periods range from 0 to 365 days; the benefit period can cover from three months to five years. Monthly benefits are paid beginning the day following the employee's satisfaction of the elimination period.
