Neil J. Jesuele

Neil Jesuele is AHA Executive Vice President of Leadership and Business Development and President of its for-profit subsidiaries, Health Forum and AHA Services, Inc. He began his career in 1975 working in health care and non-health care industries, including Colgate-Palmolive before joining Johnson & Johnson where he worked across the J&J sectors for 12 years. As Vice President, Market Development and Strategic Planning, Mr. Jesuele initiated the J&J Business Development Council and served on a variety of corporate and business development task forces.

Mr. Jesuele joined the American Hospital Association and in 1999 he became Executive Vice President of Leadership and Business Development. This role encompasses the AHA for-profit companies and non-profit entities and divisions including AHA’s Health Research and Educational Trust, AHA Center for Healthcare Governance, American Organization of Nurse Executives, Institute for Diversity in Health Management, AHA Physician Leadership Forum, the AHA Personal Membership Groups, as well as various corporate functions such as Strategic Planning, Finance, and Information Technology.

He has led the formation of a number of key AHA initiatives and organizations: the National Alliance for Health Information Technology, AHA Center for Healthcare Governance, the AHA Quality Center, and AHA’s Hospitals in Pursuit of Excellence strategic platform to help hospitals accelerate performance improvement. More recently, this work includes the AHA multi-stakeholder effort designed to make advancements in Equity of Care and AHA SmartMarket, an informational and social collaboration platform for professionals.

In 2010, Mr. Jesuele and his leadership team began its journey toward performance excellence by applying the Baldrige principles to its work, with one of its units being recognized by Illinois Performance Excellence.

Mr. Jesuele received his bachelor of Business Administration degree from the College of William and Mary and an MBA in Finance and Marketing from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He has served on the William and Mary Annual Fund Board. Executive education programs include: Duke Fuqua School, Northwestern Kellogg School of Management, and Harvard Business School.

Mr. Jesuele serves on the Boards of Health Forum, AHA Solutions, AHA Services, Inc., the AHA Center for Healthcare Governance, Institute for Diversity, and regularly participates in a number of governance committees, including the AHA Operations and the AHA Investment Committees. He serves on behalf of the AHA as Advisor to HX360 (HIMSS and AVIA-led), an initiative to facilitate health system adoption of next generation technology.
