Since Dave took lead in 2003, Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital has excelled at building loyal relationships with physicians, developed a national reputation for innovation and performance excellence and become an influential provider in American health care. Good Samaritan Hospital is a 340-bed acute care hospital located in the western suburbs of Chicago. It is a member of Advocate Health Care and the only Level I Trauma Center in its market. Main health care services include: Cardiology, Surgery, Medicine and Mother/Baby.

While Dave has been in service, Good Samaritan has received the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award (2010) and the Lincoln Foundation for Performance Excellence Gold Award (2010). The hospital is also ranked as 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospital by Thomson Reuters (2010), Magnet Hospital for Nursing (2009), among others.

In recognition of his excellent service, Dave has been the recipient of the first Downers Grove Area Chamber of Commerce Enterprise Award (2008); Becker's Hospital Review Magazine CEO of the Year (2009), Inductee into The Studer Group's Fire Starter Hall of Fame (2009), and recipient of the Excellence in Advocacy Award from the Illinois Hospital Association (2010).

Dave is also a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Illinois Hospital Association Strategic Planning Committee, Lincoln Foundation for Performance Excellence Board of Directors and Downers Grove Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors. He chairs the Illinois Hospital Association Political Action Committee and is the Immediate past Chair, Glen Ellyn Children's Chorus. Dave is also active with the American Heart Association.
