Amy C. Barry

Ms. Barry joined Lakeland Regional Health Systems in October 2013, recognized internationally by Gallup Corporation as one of the Greatest Places to Work, with system responsibility for retail innovation services, wellness, the talent/HR division, employee health and workforce safety. Prior to joining Lakeland Regional Health Systems, Ms. Barry served as the Chief Human Resources and Innovation Officer at Palmetto Health, nationally recognized as a Best Place to Work by Modern Healthcare, beginning in May 2012 with responsibility for system innovation, corporate human resources, organizational development and the health and wellbeing service line. Ms. Barry also spent 17 years at Martin Health serving 10 as the Vice President & Chief Human Resources Officer. Ms. Barry’s previous healthcare employers also include Saratoga Hospital & Nursing Home, Samaritan Hospital and Nurse Finders Corporation.

In addition to her current position Ms. Barry has been heavily involved in national, regional and local leadership roles throughout her career. She is currently a Board of Director for the American Society for Healthcare Human Resources Association (ASHHRA), affiliated with the American Hospital Association, and has served as a national Advocacy Committee member as well as a national Culture of Health Committee member for ASHHRA. Previous leadership roles include serving as Chair for the VHA HR Executives for the Southeast from 2002-2006, Chair for the March of Dimes in Martin County, Florida, Board Member for the Treasure Coast Humane Society and Board Member for Palmetto Place for Children in Columbia, SC. Ms. Barry has also presented at a national level at dozens of conferences and meetings on workforce best practice initiatives focused on employee, physician, volunteer and board relationships and governance across the country.

Ms. Barry led the effort at Martin Health over a 7 year journey to be recognized as a national Employer of Choice 2009, 2010, 2011 and Best Place to Work for 5 years.
