The AHA Continues its Exclusive Endorsement of Versus
RFID IR Patient, Staff & Asset Tracking

The American Hospital Association (AHA) today announced it has renewed its exclusive endorsement of RFID IR Patient, Staff, & Asset Tracking from Versus Technology, Inc. AHA Solutions, Inc., a subsidiary of AHA, awards the AHA endorsement to products and services that help member hospitals and health care organizations achieve operational excellence. Following due diligence and market analysis, the Versus Advantages solution was renewed for its ability to accurately track patients, staff, and assets as well as apply rules-based logic to automate processes.

The Versus Advantages Infrared (IR) and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID)Real-Time Locating System RTLS enables accurate locating of patients, staff and equipment-to room, bed and even chair levels-allowing hospitals to track time together with patients, perform real-time bed management and alert staff to potential safety concerns whether related to patient volume, infection control or staff safety. By combining safe infrared (IR) and radio frequency identification (RFID) technologies, Versus provides precise tracking and locating of individuals and assets. Versus badges, worn by patients and staff, and tags, which are attached to hospital equipment, transmit digital IR and RFID signals to ceiling-mounted sensors. The solution can also be integrated with other clinical information systems such as billing, scheduling, or electronic medical records.

"We are thrilled that Versus' customers consistently report dramatic improvements in workflows and throughput across organizations, and more importantly, they receive high satisfaction scores across clinical and IT stakeholders," said Mary Longe, Director, AHA Solutions. "We believe that this system grants health care leaders the situational awareness required to respond to any situation in real-time and better prepare for the future like pay for performance and tightened budgets."

Versus' value to hospitals was shown during the due diligence three years ago when the AHA awarded the original endorsement. The value continues today as hospitals such as Columbus Regional Hospital, Columbus, IN, Avera McKennan, Sioux Falls, SD, and Memorial Hospital Miramar, Hollywood, FL continue to expand the Versus Advantages solution throughout their organizations. In addition, many clinics such as the Pacific Medical Center's Canyon Park, Bothell, WA, Virginia Mason Kirkland Clinic, Kirkland, WA, Avera McKennan Cancer Center, Sioux Falls, SD  and several Veterans Affairs' hospitals have reduced patient wait times to mere minutes-and, in some cases, completely eliminated the waiting room all together.

"Versus' clients, whether representing a full hospital, an ambulatory clinic or an emergency department enthusiastically share their stories and have been featured in past AHA Solutions Signature Learning Series webinars," said Longe. "We are looking forward to another event in March that will illustrate how Versus has helped hospitals improve their operational performance and patient flow."
