With 30,000 associates in more than 100 organizations, Mercy Health, formerly Catholic Health Partners, needed a flexible yet powerful way to address patient safety across the entire system. By blending its own model with partners like the Institute for Health Improvement, Mercy Health has executed a standardized, system-wide approach to systematically reduce harm, mortality and admissions. Examples include the creation of its own patient safety academy and the use of RL Solutions’ risk management software to develop a Failures of Care report that humanizes reportable harm.
