How will the renaissance in health care delivery really happen? Leadership.

Leadership is not just for senior executives. It is a set of learnable and measurable behaviors that most employees need. In a time of unprecedented business challenges, when organizations are reassessing operations, realigning services and relationships, and experiencing new constraints on growth and profitability, leadership must operate in a culture open to innovation and opportunity.

Our first presenter, Jim Kouzes, author of the groundbreaking and bestselling The Leadership Challenge, will present The Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership based on research with organizations spanning more than 30 years. Our next presenter, Jeffrey M. Adams, PhD, highlights the importance of influencing clinical professional practice environments toward optimizing patient, workforce and organizational outcomes.

Dr. Adams is coordinating efforts at Massachusetts General Hospital to identify and evaluate innovation in care delivery. He is the developer of the Adams Influence Model (AIM) and the Leadership Influence over the Professional Practice Environments Scale (LIPPES) that guide his work. Dr. Adams shares the findings and implications from using these instruments in nursing practices across the United States.

In this webinar, learn how to develop a self-inventory of the factors, attributes and processes of interpersonal influence and discover six key components necessary to specifically influence professional practice environments.

Attendees Will Learn To:

  • Integrate The Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership (model the way, inspire a shared vision, challenge the process, enable others to act, and encourage the heart)
  • Develop an influence self-inventory and a strategy around a specific issue
  • Use the six components of the LIPPES in your efforts to influence the professional environments you oversee
  • Further conceptualize the relationship between leadership and patient, workforce and organizational outcomes
