Single Sign-On Speeds Access to Clinical Desktops
Fletcher Allen Health Care Simplifies Access to Epic EMR

  • Event Date:
  • Event Time: Noon Central

Every minute that clinicians have to spend logging into their computers is time taken away from caring for patients. Fletcher Allen Health Care, in Burlington, Vermont, deployed a single sign-on (SSO) solution to dramatically reduce log-in times from a minute or more to only five seconds -- within their Epic EMR and VMware Horizon View environment.

John McConnell, Enterprise Architect at Fletcher Allen Health Care, will discuss how his hospital simplifies secure access to its Epic EMR using desktop virtualization — ensuring strong authentication and utilizing SSO. He’ll share how the combination of single sign-on plus desktop virtualization is enabling the hospital to securely incorporate tablets, significantly increase clinician satisfaction and accelerate EMR adoption.

In addition, Mae-ellen Gavin, Director of Product Marketing, Imprivata, will discuss the benefits of single sign-on in a virtual desktop environment with Epic EMR integration.

Attendees Will Learn:

  • How to streamline clinical workflow with SSO technology
  • How the combination of SSO and desktop virtualization increase clinician satisfaction
  • Why getting C-level support for an SSO rollout is key

“Computers should take care of people, not the other way around.” - John McConnell, Enterprise Architect, Fletcher Alliance Health Care
